River Country Red's Rendezvous and Living History Encampment Sponsored by Wild Eagle Lodge
For the past 22 years Klondike Days has provided an opportunity for "Buck skinners" to portray their passion of reliving the pre-1840's period of history, the North American Fur Trade era. The winter setting offers a new perspective to this ever-growing family hobby.
Living History is reliving part or all of an historical period by recreating the conditions of the time. This includes the clothing, firearms, camps, and the gatherings that are called "rendezvous."

On our 22nd anniversary, Klondike days was pleased to share with you along with our past Buck skinner participants, the "Hidden Prairie Rendezvous Club" from Phillips, Wisconsin.
Hidden Prairie Rendezvous Club is a small family oriented historical re-enactors club that loves to have a good time demonstrating the pre-1840's. With their family and friends they hope to encourage others to actively participate as well.
Their Mission Statement as follows expresses their true feelings of why they do what they do.
"To not only preserve history by presenting primitive frontier skills of a by-gone era but to share in the enjoyment and fun of the fur trapper/ buck skinner life style."
Some of the activities you can anticipate seeing at Klondike Days are:

Fire Starting Cooking Trapping Skills Black Powder Shooting Archery Lead Ball Making Cannon Shooting Tomahawk and Knife Throwing
There will also be trades goods (wares) for sale at the encampment.
Visitors are welcome and encouraged to discuss the hobby of "Buck skinning."
